So far, this class has been really exciting for me. I’m learning a lot in regards to how mode affects rhetoric and how to really tailor to the needs of the audience. I’ve also learned how genre plays an important part in how people respond to rhetoric.
We’ve set up personal websites and learned to annotate using hypothes.is, a really handy plug-in. We’ve also started a group project that requires us to work with a local organization to develop deliverables; our group is Center for Civic Innovations and we have three main deliverables, consisting of a website redesign, newsletter revision, and flyers. I’ve been put on the website redesign team and so far, we’ve met with the client, had a pitch proposal of potential changes, and addressed our potential duties.
