For many people, Justin Nevile is the first Best Practices team member they meet. For the past 8 years, Justin has provided administrative support to the trainers at our face-to-face trainings while also handling the registration process. In the office, he helps update the BP website calendar, manages the audio/video equipment, and creates instructional podcasts to be sent to GA Pre-K Teachers. BP allows one to tap into many different, creative talents! Justin says that he appreciates most the flexibility that comes with working at BP. One day, he could be helping design a podcast, whi
le the next day he is in a classroom helping instruct teachers on how to use Work Sampling Online.
Justin received a Bachelor of Art in Political Science from Tuskegee University and a Master of Science in International Policy Management from Kennesaw State University. He previously worked at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta.
What is your favorite children’s book? What makes it most appealing to you?
My favorite children’s book is Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. I found the illustrations of the wild things to be very creative, and I enjoyed the description of Max’s journey to the island. Also as a young boy, I could relate to Max’s imagination and stubbornness!
What actor/actress would play you in a movie about your life?
I would probably choose Don Cheadle. He’s a great actor and I enjoyed his performance in the movies Hotel Rwanda and Traffic.
What is something that most people don’t know about you or would never guess?
I’m a huge Beatles fan. As a kid, I watched the Beatles’ cartoon on the Disney Channel and became hooked on their music.
Which would you rather do: wash dishes, mow the lawn, clean the bathroom, or vacuum the house?
I would rather vacuum the house.
What would you sing at Karaoke night? Why?
This is a tough one! I would sing either Hall and Oates’ “Out of Touch” or the Sugar Hill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight”. Both songs are very catchy, and you always get crowd participation!
Which of the five senses would you say is your strongest?
I think my sense of hearing is the strongest.
