The photo only shows a man’s face from the top of his head to his shoulders and a bag of empty skittles covering his mouth.by the picture being that it is only his head takes away a lot of meaning for this picture.Such as how he was walking or was he just standing and also the background. If it was a head to toe picture ones could have seen his whole back ground and the way he was standing and if he was holding anything. This photo speaks numerous of thing about the “Black Lives Movement” the first thing that comes  to mind is the Trevon Martin It brings back three important things about the case which was skittles, Arizona, and hoodie. On the night of February 26 Trevon Martin went to the store to get a packed of skittles and a Arizona. prior to that George Zimmerman was apart of the neighborhood watch and he was following Trevon Martin while harassing the police every time he thought it was necessary to call. He called another time and told the dispatcher over the phone that there was a suspicious guy and the dispatcher ask was he following the suspect and he replied yes after reviewing the story and the news i thought to myself it was racism from the beginning. Think about it! an innocent Black African American guy walking at night from the store with a hoodie on walking home of course the majority would think he is suspicious and think that he is a menace to society. In conclusion not only does black lives matter “All Lives Matter” we as a whole have to stop separating each group and races and work together to stop the violence and nobody is better nor different than each other.

Summary Schindler

Part 1

In Sarah Schindler piece ” Architectural Exclusion: Discrimination and segregation through physical design of the built environment.” she mainly talked about man made built objects which are physical features that are put in placental certain individuals mainly poor people how hard it is to access certain areas than the majority group. In 1974 the city of Memphis closed off the street that connected an all white neighborhood to primarily white one. The U.S supreme court did not find any wrong doing with the shut down of the street in 1974 in the city of Memphis. The beginning of the article talked about how built environments has made a major effect on today’s society, such as the MARTA systems, Highways, and bridges. How built environment have kept colored people and poor people separated. Architectural and regulation have played a huge part as well how a environment looks may have a person thinking that is how it generally is made and it does not hold any value when it was made. For example “one might think it a simple aesthetic design decision to create a park bench that is divided into three individual seats with armrests separating those seats. Yet the bench may have been created this way to prevent people often homeless people from lying down and taking naps.” (Schindler par 12) Everyday people are adjusting theirs selves to the built environment that is generally made for a purpose that people have to adjust their self to not knowing it was made this particular way for a reason.

Summary

This experience has made me read between the lines and not just look at what a specific object means and what it stand for. I took the time to explain each area by using my five senses in my site from using my five senses and explaining the first thing that came to my mind. I use objective and  subjective to explain each item in my site at king memorial train station. Through this experience it was easy to write whatever came to my mind and edit your thoughts later.

As I sat at King Memorial train station I notice the red, yellow, blue, and white Marta sign that represent the Marta logo that was at the top of a big tall metal grey sign. King Memorial train station is not as huge train stations as the other ones in Atlanta such as H.E.Holmes.There are no buses that actually are designated for this train station most of the train stations in Atlanta Georgia do not have buses they are just a connection with other train stations. The outside building was made of concrete like material that felt rough as i scrapped the palm of my hand across it.The side parking lot was full filled with cars I notice the people who cars were park in that particular area where nurses from a hospital. As I walked up the little stairs of concrete, the ground turn into a red brick clay walk way that traveled through the train station. The pattern it created are octagons through out the entire train station. The grey titles that laid along the sides of the train before you reach the train floor, had a pattern of brown. There where lights that hung up high on a black metal pole throughout the train station just like street lights but it is for the inside of the train station.

download It was 3:30pm in the afternoon on a wednesday evening when I sat at King memorial train station it was quite area to be in but one of the busiest due to traffic flow.Only sounds I could hear the buses, cars, and trains. For an hour it was the same sounds you could hear when the train come in and when it leaves. In that hour I learned that a train station is really not a place where amazing things happen it is just a normal traditional place for people who do not own cars or even for people who do own cars. M.L.K train stations traffic flow was rapidly moving throughout the day it was different types of cars riding up and down the street and many different types of people walking up and down the street. This particular train station do not have a bus route it is only a transferred point, ride the train and walk to your destination or get picked up there is no designated bus fro this particular train station. It was so much traffic because king memorial train station is in the middle of downtown. Downtown Atlanta is one of the busiest areas in Atlanta because downtown Atlanta is the middle area connection between almost every place in Atlanta Georgia.
