Three location drawings

Terracotta & white Prismacolor color pencils on toned black paper; Higgins India ink on Smooth Bristol; watercolor pencil on mixed media paper

These three drawings in three different perspectives reflect the locations where my creative superhero recharges to get ready for his missions, which drain her in a big way. Self-care and napping are very important to my superhero, and the only way she can help those in need. She puts herself at the top of her list of people to save. Because of they physical energy needed to be everywhere to help others, she recharges her energy at the Sun Temple. She helps victims who are experiencing poor mental health, and so she constantly needs to recharge her compassion reserve, as it is draining emotional, and for this she goes to the compassion torch at the Statue of Liberty. Lastly she gets her superpowers to heal others at the Amazon rainforest from napping. She travels to these locations via her dream state.

I thoroughly enjoyed creating artworks to reflect these locations which mean so much to me personally and are an integral part of my life as an immigrant and now and American citizen, as also somebody whose passion is world travel. I loved learning about creating different perspectives and gaining formal knowledge in a fun way. I particularly enjoyed working with the Crow Quill pen, ink and the ink wash process. it felt very organic and I like weaving “errors” into the texture of the sketch, while using ink pens. I love the effects that the toned paper brings out, and also liked the watercolor pencil process. These tools and media are all new to me.
