Blog Posts and Comments Process Narrative

For the first project, we (as a class) were divided into two groups, and each group alternated blogging and commenting – with the exception of two posts. Following a well-orchestrated prompt, we thoughtfully posted or commented about topics relating to different aspects of material culture, the corresponding assigned reading, and the discussions that we had in class.

As the semester advanced, my understanding of the blog moved from merely personal experience to broad reflection on specific topics. That is, I began to think on a broader scale than just my personal scope of experience. My writing changed accordingly: my comments began to reflect not only the discussions in class, but also the readings, making greater connections about material culture studies as a whole. Since this was a semester-long project, the blog best summarized my progress in the class; subsequently, revision is not necessary, as the sequence alone show my evolution in this course.
