3 Web design tips

1) I learned that when it comes to creating your own website, it helpful to create a rough layout of how you want it to be.

2) when making your own website, having themes is important because it allows the reader/viewer to see that they are still on your website and not someone else s.

3) When it comes to text, it helps to have contrasting background and text colors so that it is easier to read.

Netiquette Challenge

I learned that when it comes to having netiquette, it is mainly about how you handle situations. I learned that no matter what someone did or said to you, or about your content, you should still carry yourself in a very respectable, positive manner because getting into something negative only makes things worse

Important Apps

1) StudyBlue: this app is extremely helpful when you are in need of study material uploaded by fellow students. it would be useful because it would give you the extra edge you need to be well prepared for the exams.

2) Courseoff: This app, I’ve found very useful, is a calendar app that allows you to enter you professor’s name and class time, and the automatically updates and reminds you of classes that are coming up soon. it also allows you to share your schedule with other students that you know. This app is useful because sometimes you may be out of it, and forget what class is next, but this app takes care of that for you.

Advice for online success

Hello everyone!

My advice would be to make sure you manage your time. I am one of the biggest procrastinators when it comes to doing things like class work, but one thing that has helped me get a little better at it is, letting my friends know what I have to do. Holding yourself responsible is something we all should do, but when it comes to others holding me responsible, my procrastination becomes less and less of a problem.

Tool Inventory

Task 1. You have to lead an online presentation on the contents of your history term paper

Tools: Wiki, Prezi

Reasons: the wiki (Wikipedia) can be used to research historical information. the Prezi can be used to present the information in an appealing way

Task 2. The final exam for your economics course is coming up, and you need to collect all of your (and hopefully your classmates’) online resources for a study guide.

Tools: email, google drive, facebook

Reasons: With the email, you are able to transfer information from one person to another. the google drive allows for seamless sharing of information with more than one person. Facebook would serve as the platform for connecting certain groups of people.

Task 3. You need to create an interactive tour of Berlin as an assignment for your study abroad program.

Tools:Wiki, Video,

Reasons: the video conferencing could allow for a tour of Berlin, and Wiki would be a good source of the information.

Task 4. You and a group of your classmates have been asked to do a collaborative research project on how Facebook has affected the social habits of young adults.

Tools: Google Drive, Facebook, Prezi
