ABOUT STAFF APPLICATION

OUR AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Acquisition Editors

      • Review and vote on submitted works
      • Discuss submissions with group
      • Advocate for submissions to be included in the final journal
      • Solicit additional submissions, if needed

Copy Editors

      • Review accepted works for format, grammar and spelling errors
      • Provide edits and suggestions to works in accordance to author’s original voice/intent
      • Collect findings and present to Head Copy Editor for approval

Proofreaders

      • Review copy editors’ draft of works, providing revisions for format, grammar, spelling, and glaring graphical errors
      • Collaborate with copy editors to discuss final suggestions and implement final edits
      • Ensure journal is polished before being posted to website

Website Designers

      • Plan graphic design of journal’s final digital format, taking into account the theme of accepted works and insight/feedback of acquisition editors, copy editors, and proofreaders
      • Work with Managing Editor and Editor-in-Chief to publish new digital release of new issue
      • Ensure website is up-to-date, accessible, and in working order for readers
      • Upload updates to website as necessary

DEADLINE

  • Applications for Acquisition Editors close September 18th
  • Applications for Copy Editors & Proofreaders close September 25th
  • Applications for Website Designers close October 6th

WORKSHOPS

Underground will host developmental workshops once a week from August 28th to October 13th for undergraduate students to polish their literary works before the decision deadline! Official dates will be posted within the following week here.
