Georgia State University perceives its campus as an University for everyone. However, GSU does not promotion of who is everyone is not evenly dispersed. Georgia State is known for its enlarge roll of different background diversity. This includes people that have different race, religious affiliation, and political backgrounds. The main thing Georgia State is known for is its diversity in ethnicity. Many student’s who speak on GSU and why they like or choose this school is because they are surrounded by different ethnic backgrounds.

The University advertise their diversity by proposing its statistics of the different ethnic groups that enroll. For example, in the Georgia State’s News Hub website it provides statistics that support their diversity. “In its 2014 “America’s Best Colleges “ edition, U.S. News & World Report magazine ranked Georgia State 12th among the country’s most diverse institutions.  In the same article, they list Vice Provost Timothy Renick’s statement as an vindication of “Georgia State is increasingly a destination of choice for high achieving students of all backgrounds”. This makes one wonders on who is considered apart of “all backgrounds”. In another article that celebrates the diversity of another upcoming freshman class, Renick announces that “with all of the opportunities that come from living and studying in a world-class city, Georgia State is increasingly a destination of choice for students”.

Even though GSU speaks on its welcoming campus, it rarely promotes the welcoming of students with disabilities that include students not being able to move around.Even on the front page of Georgia States disability home page  does it show people in wheelchairs or temporary disabilities like a person  of color. All the the individuals that are illustrated on this page still show  Georgia State’s diversity in different ethnic background.
