2019 National Conference on Undergraduate Research to be held in Georgia

The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR), an annual conference sponsored by the Council on Undergraduate Research, will be held at Kennesaw State University from April 11 to April 13, 2019. NCUR is a huge conference that draws participants from around the world and from a wide variety of fields – presenters from creative and performing arts are as welcome, as those from engineering or the biological or social sciences. Presentation options include posters, oral presentations, performances, and physical works of art.

Presenting at a large conference such as NCUR can be a valuable experience in itself, as well as a great item to add to your CV or resume when you are applying to graduate or professional schools. If you don’t wish to present or can’t present, you should consider attending anyway. There’s an associated career fair the day before the conference, and there is a large graduate school and career fair during the conference, in addition to many interesting presentations and opportunities to meet people within and outside of your field.

Abstracts are due no later than 5 PM on Friday, December 7, but your project does not have to be completed to submit an abstract; the abstract can refer to your anticipated results. (If they turn out not to be what you expected, that’s okay too!) You’ll need to list a faculty member as your mentor when you submit an abstract, so be sure to ask your mentor’s permission to apply for the conference before the deadline. You can find more information and a link to submit an abstract at http://www.cur.org/what/events/students/ncur/2019/
