“I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to be a part of the Eliminating Books Desert. I love being able to give back to others, especially those who are unable to have the same resources as others. Reading is a big criteria for students to learn and understand to help them later on in life. When I was younger, I really enjoyed reading and I want others to have the same opportunities. For this project, I chose to donate my favorite book. I read this book when I was in seventh grade, and I absolutely loved it. This book taught me to never judge a book by its cover. I chose to donate this book so that the students can read this and be inspired just like me. I watched the movie when it came out and was able to put faces to names and it was a really cool opportunity. The book wonder is a perfect read for elementary and middle school students.” -Anna Hellem
