collage poster, Compasiion Poster

The assignment was to create public service announcement posters that will encourage compassion. My audience is administrators and teachers of Black boys in American schools. Collage poster with various stages of education on Black adolescent boys from the 1960s to present day. At the top of the page, there is a small image of a concerned maternal figure who looks through barbed wire. Just above her, you have a gavel representing the educational inequalities that have historically plagued black boys. There is a blackboard with a blurred teacher with a crossed-out thought bubble and written next to him are the Words Teach Me in chalk. We then pan over to a child who is encouraged by a Black man, in repetition the raised fist of the child turns into a large raised hand. The other man in the collage is a positive role model for the boys, he represents a paternal encouraging figure.
