Auditions For Theatre Arts Guild

CGirlsAuditions happen show by show throughout the year, typically in August, November, and January. Students, Faculty and Staff of GSU, community members, and professional actors are welcome and encouraged to audition for our shows. Check back here for show specific announcements or sign up for our Mailing List to have audition and show information delivered to you. All shows are college productions; no pay is involved.

AG SHOWCASE AUDITIONS: 

For those interested in participating in this semester’s student showcase please note that this production is not a talent show, and if your piece is chosen you are required to assemble your piece on your own time. However there will be check-ins throughout the process. 

Though all themes are welcomed, we are strongly looking for pieces that explore the art of self-expression

ACTORS/POETS: 

  • Monologue: Prepare a monologue no longer than 5 minutes of your choice (can be self written) 
  • Scene: If performing a scene with another student(s), have a 3-10 min scene of your choice prepared (can be self written). 
  • Poetry/Slam: Prepare an original poem (1-8 minutes)

MUSICAL INSTRUMENT: 

  • Prepare at least a 2 minute instrumental piece of your choice (can be original music) 
  • Can be a SOLO PERFORMER or DUO/BAND
  • Piece can be with or without vocalist

SINGERS: 

NOTE: Singers must sing with piano accompaniment (at a minimum) during the showcase.

  • Prepare at least a 2 minute song of your choice (can be an original song)
  • The song can be sung SOLO, DUET, or BAND.

SHORT FILM: 

  • Create a short film a maximum of 8 minutes long. 
  • Must be an original script and idea.
