This project is to use one piece of office paper to make a 3D sculpture and document the process in the sketchbook with photos, writing, and drawing. We need to make 8 sculptures, and document each one. Sketchbook need to be organized and consistent. Finally, we present the sketchbook with a 7-10 mins talk on voicethread. In this project I tried many different method folding, cutting, twisting, glueing, and paper macheing. I think this is a fun project, because we get to discover how one piece of paper can turn into so many different things. It’s my first time working on paper like this, and I enjoyed trying out different ways to make my sculptures. I like taking photos of my sculptures and using different lighting to create contrast and shadow. I spend the most time making my sketchbook, I want every sculpture to have a theme and explain how my ideas came from. I’m glad that the outcome is worth my effort. I’m really satisfied about my sketchbook. When I look at my classmate’s work, I found it interesting that almost everybody, made a tree, but everyone’s tree is so different. It’s interesting how everybody have their own story about their sculptures. There are a million ways to look at a piece of paper, there are a million ways to look at life, just spread your imagination.
