Objective

The Photograph as Contemporary Art Charlotte Cotton surveys the primary trends in photography, which she labels as: If This is Art, Once Upon a Time, Deadpan, Something and Nothing, Intimate Life, Moments in History, Revived and Remade, Physical and Material, and Photographicness. In this project you will create a series of diptychs focusing on the themes from 6 of the chapters.  The purpose of this project is threefold: to introduce concept development, to introduce the practice of working in a consistent style, and to further develop a language for discussing contemporary photography.

Within my vision of this project I decided to go for a reoccurring theme. The theme that I decided was Easter pastels and Spring . I wanted to incorporate this thing throughout the chapters that I did through the book. I also wanted to give a brand new look on spring Easter and pastel colors in a contemporary way.

Chapter 2 ( Once Upon A Time )

I like the over exposure here the most because when the picture is it normal exposure or under expose some of the darker colors such as the purples and blues you can’t see the face of the egg .

Chapter 3 ( Deadpan )

  • this is a closer look of what is in the grass.

Chapter 4 ( Something and Nothing )

Specifically with the egg that are overexposed I love how the light from the over exposed be off the eggs as well . When the picture is under expose it does not have that same bright shiny affect.

Chapter 5 ( Intimate Life )

Specifically with this chapter I wanted to capture the essence of Easter with my boyfriend at the time . I over expose these pictures because it gave it more of a dreamy like feel. With the editing and having really bad breakouts over exposed really showed up and showed out.

Chapter 6 ( Moments in History )

These pictures go along with my story because of the pastel colors they aluminate . Easter is all about the light pink’s peaches blues yellows greens are very light colors.

Chapter 7 ( Revived and Remade )

I chose this one to be under expose because if it was over expose the yellow almost translucent Easter grass would be unable to see .
