For my final post I want to write about the links. The links were definitely my biggest weakness and struggle during this entire process, besides the images. I couldn’t figure out why my links were taking me to a 404 page or why it wasn’t showing the page the way I was typing it into the code.
Eventually, after much of going in circles, I asked for feedback from Professor Pullman who kindly informed me that my URLs had capitalization in places where it shouldn’t be. After fixing this, SIMPLE fix, everything was looking perfect.
I also was having some problems with paying for space, but I eventually paid for a domain and space, so it all worked out.
For this week’s update, I also want to write about the troubles that I had with the visual aspect of the webpage/portfolio. For the entirety of working on this assignment, it wasn’t really looking the way that I wanted it to. I couldn’t figure out how other people were getting different colors and looks to their pages. Even the alignment of the words was off, and I really couldn’t figure out how to fix it. This was getting quite discouraging for my portfolio, because I think it is also importance to present yourself the way that you want to.
This was resolved by me finding the color input section of the code, where I found the color that I wanted in the tutorial and put that shade of purple’s title into the code, which then made it show up on the webpage! I also was able to fix the alignment, so all is well!
