Our proposal is to create a microloan system in food insecure communities to encourage sustainable subsistence agriculture by educating locals and setting up community gardens and hydroponic systems for local sales, as well as community consumption.

Similar to our first proposal, we are still seeking to create a system where these food insecure communities may find sustenance within their own households and neighbourhoods. Thus, these proposals are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

For this program we will require a team of five, as well as initial finances of $25000 for the purpose of training of locals, as well as equipping these communities with basic equipment such as seeds, fertilizer, irrigation systems, and hydroponic systems. Ultimately, with the produce that can be reaped from these local operations, the community can benefit from nutritious produce, as well as be able to stimulate the local economy if and when they generate any surplus.
