We would like to start a food storage program to initiate and promote the creation of food storage technology, education to preserve foods, and reduce the wastage of food by developing community-based research initiatives to collect information on community needs in terms of diet, preferences, and which aspects of a community are most food insecure and vulnerable AND cross-reference them with surrounding communities with excess of foods in need of storage so that the surplus food can be redistributed to those in need instead of going to waste.

The goal here is to create a self-sufficient space that can help secure vulnerable populations and also to contribute to reducing waste while feeding undernourished groups.

With a basic cost of $10000, two or three of the target community’s leading members can be trained in basic food preservation methods and collect information regarding household and individual nutritional needs. Based on these basic programs and their success, the program can move to its second phase in seeking out neighbouring communities with excess food and for an additional minimum expense of $5000, these goods can be transported from to the target location.

For the basic plan, two educators/trainers will be used, and a third team member may be used for transportation and logistics.
