The Most Helpful Resource on Resume Writing

I found the Laszlo Bock article ‘The Biggest Mistakes I See on Resumes, and How to Correct Them’ to be the most informative. It is written from the point of view of an employer and the problems that they commonly see on resumes. Even though there are five mistakes are discussed, these are important mistakes that many people may be tempted to make. Most of these mistakes are logical in a way (in my opinion at least), but the extra explanation as to why they should not be made is very useful. I found that mistake 2 (length) and mistake 3 (formatting) were the most helpful for me.

What I Learned About Citations

  1. That Economics typically requires the Chicago style.
  2. I wasn’t aware that MLA was only used in humanities.
  3. That DOI numbers were included in citations.

Acadia University Tutorial

I enjoyed completing this tutorial. I did not learn anything new, but I thought that it was a nice way to review the rules of citation and plagiarism. I think it should be a part of the plagiarism unit in English courses.

Netiquette Quiz

netiquette quiz
