Process of the Armory

In this assignment, I choose to use something soft trading it for for hard exo armor, Ideally the goal is to find a solution and protect yourself. I say why fight when you you rise above all. I incorporate ying and yang to symbolize balance in your everyday life, it is essential and something that needs to be made visible. That is also why i extended the original size of the wings to broaden the concept. I also have a walking stick with has encouraging and self aware messages for whomever to stand on when walking, the mirrors are a reminder to look at yourself before judging others in the mask and also a duality to find yourself in someone else meaning that we are both human, the internet or social media is a place where you can depict how you are perceived and build a false reality for others to see. It is important to be real with yourself and others, it is not a place to judge but simply to socialize. The hands that were made are not visible but represent hands being tied together but are now shoulder pads that can be raised to push back anything negative said back out.

The Uncanny

This projects was a concentrated experience. We begin making a plaster base and using form boards taped together to have a solid cube. Later once dried we choose where we would like to drill a hole in our piece then work around from there. I choose to drill diagonally, trying to think of how i could be different. There was no intention design in this process only inspiration. My inspiration came from architecture for the artist of the Mercedes Benz Stadium. Although it being nothing like it. I just went with the flow and whatever i felt comfortable with moving forward to finish this piece

The Process of the Abstract Creations

These photos show the process of the the sculpture made out of plasters, in the making of the process we use drills, maillots, followed by a list of other tools. This the first day we were outside actually getting dirty and exploring what our imaginations brings to the table. This process consisted of alot of time. I personally enjoyed hammering and drilling and everything in between down to the details of engraving line work.

Mummy Me Madam

September 23rd, 2019

This is also from the “Thirteen Ways” assignment, one of the last pieces I made by molding paper to create this sculpture. The strip like texture is why I decided to give it the name I did, reminding me of bandages and wrappings of Mummies.
