Question 1: How big is this concern for you?

Answer – It is very difficult to get a good counselor

 

Question 2: What you are doing to mitigate this issue? and what’s working and what is not working?

 

Ans: – Taking to close friends and relatives to acquire the knowledge that what will good career path.

Question 3: Do you think it’s a chronic problem and needs solution?

 

Ans: – Yes, it is because many times we don’t know we have good choices as compare to engineering and medical streams which is by default given to us. Because of many a stream we don’t know where we can feel motivated.

 

Question 4: Can you be available to review the designed solution?

Ans: – Yes.

 

Question 5: Do they know if someone else has successfully overcame this issue. Maybe just by looking hard enough on internet or just by asking help from random people till they got right help.

 

Ans: – Yes, I know few of them who had got the proper consulting related to their weakness and strength and know they are well satisfied with their carrier.

emotions: There was general excitement that this can be resolved or someone is considering it as an issue and lot of interest in Career topics which was shared by both parents and students as they could related to it really well. Student felt that he is at Risk of losing his fair chance due to lack of information about career options because the inherent nature of fast changing skills that can earn good income. He could feel both the challenge and necessity.

Reflections :

Another valid concern was that same issue was there in even Adults who are trying to look for another career options. They also felt that they have very limited information about emerging career options. Several examples were given where how a student who took a strange and unusual looking choice but somehow later made complete sense with the new information. This made a real case for information asymmetry and need to have a career guidance in native language.
