Going West The Movie

This is my PowerPoint video for Going West. She is looking for new beginnings a fresh start. On her journey she encounters some trouble, but its nothing she can’t handle.

Hodgepodge of’ Failures’

Prompt 4

This project was about not being afraid of failing. If your drawing or work did not turn out how you wanted it too. I think we as humans can get so caught up in being perfect we forget that its ok to fail. Some of the greatest things created came from failed experiments. The takeaway is to try. If you don’t try you really will never know. Art and Fear talks about how perfectionism can be more harmful then helpful. We have to get back to our adolescent roots and not care so much about making everything perfect. Its ok to make mistakes you may create the next masterpiece.

I decided to draw cats and rocks. I always say I want to draw my cats but I am always hesitant because I don’t think it will come out good. I also decided to draw rocks because I think they are hard to draw because of there jagged shapes and I don’t think mine would come out that great. Hey I gave a try and I think they turned out great.

Going West

Story Board Going West

On this project we had to create a comic strip. I decided to do a comic on going west. My character sets out on her own ready to show everyone she can make it on her own. She is ready to break free and be the person she wants to be. She has to face some obstacles before she makes it to her final destination, but what’s life without a few bumps in the road along the way.

Land Art/ Prompt 3

These two projects I did outside. I used rocks I found around my yard and made a maze. I found a patch of grass that had pieces missing from it already. Then I added my rocks to create my Land Art.

These two images are my third prompt project, called Land Art. I enjoyed this project very much. It was a lot more strenuous then I thought. I used a small patch a grass that was growing in my backyard. It already had patches in it. I used small and medium size rocks to create a maze.

Compassion Poster 2

In this poster I had to highlight a group of people I feel compassion for, I chose homeless people. In my collage I used painted paper for the sky. I cut the figures, the buildings, and some of the sky out of magazine. I made the buildings to look like a hustling and bustling city, where people are kind of bypassing the homeless people and ignoring them. I decided to highlight YIMBY as my organization for my poster.

Compassion Poster 1

This is my first compassion poster highlighting the Counseling Center at GSU. In the collage I used painted paper for the background colors. I cut the model, her background and the butterflies flowers from a magazine. Then I collected leaves to enhance the bottom flowers and to create the crown. I also used little jewels to embellish the crown.

Self Portrait

This is my prompt 2 project. I had to do a self portrait of myself. I used paper that I painted and cut out for one side of my face, eyes and lips. I used a picture of myself that I printed and cut it out for the other side of my face. I also used my hand from that photo. I used flowers cut from a magazine for my top background. I used some scrap fabric for my hair. I had a cola label laying around and I used it to make my shirt with some old scrap fabric.

My Animal Guide

The animal guides are fighting. Blood pours from the rabbit as the wolf attacks its prey. The rabbit represents shy and timid. The wolf represents independence and strength. The wolf is my protector who breaks me free of my shy timid nature. The foreground is mountains and the setting is nighttime. The media used was construction paper.
My animal guide: Fighting my nightmare

The wolf is fighting my nightmare. He is the protector of my independence. I’ve been longing to step out but that fear of failure is holding me back. My wolf is ready to be unleashed, if I’m ready or not. The wolf represents courage and breaking free from conforming and fear. He sets me free. The rabbit represents my shy and timid nature. The wolf devours the rabbit and overcomes that fear and timidness. The wolf attacked that fear and devoured it. Now the wolf walks along that path until the next battle, serving as my emotional protector.
