Phrases like “resulted in” or “affected by” are commonly used in business reports, but convey little about what actually occurred. Rather than:
“The new protocol resulted in changes in employee compliance with safety regulations,”
it is more precise to write: “The new protocol increased compliance with safety regulations.”
