GSU Mock Trial Makes History / Qualifies for National Tournament

For the first time in school history, GSU’s undergraduate Mock Trial team has qualified for the American Mock Trial Association’s annual National Championship Tournament. The tournament, which this year will take place in Minneapolis April 20-22, features the top 48 teams in the country. That GSU broke into the top 48 is quite impressive since there are over 600 AMTA college mock trial teams from 350 colleges and universities. At the regional Open Round Championship Series tournament in South Carolina, the team posted an impressive 5-2-1 record, defeating (in head-to-head competitions) teams from Georgia Tech, Middle Tennessee, Georgetown, and the University of South Carolina. And while GSU’s team advanced to nationals, perennial powerhouses Duke and Georgetown did not qualify.
