Conclusion

Modernism was all about people changing their old ways. The world itself was changing, and big cultural movements like the Harlem Renaissance inspired change in literature. Modernists focused on how to make, “those new techniques the center” and “figure out where we went wrong” in the past (Norton Modernism). Post modernism is usually thought of a response to modernism, but they are extremely different. Post Modernism established that “there is no center”, and challenged a lot of what modernists believed in (Norton Post Modernism). Post Modernists wanted to ” bring about social change in the chaotic and fragmented world”, which led to many literary works being about social and political change (Belasco and Johnson).
