I have been taught verbals before but never how to diagram them. I understand and identify infinitives by thinking of them as prepositional phrases with a verb as the object. Gerunds are verbs ending in -ing, an action, being used as a noun. Participles are used as adjectives and can have many endings.

Ch 7 Part 2
I understand relative clauses, but in the video he mentioned for a quick second that relative pronouns can sometimes be unstated. He never gave examples or explained so I would appreciate some clarification.

I agree with the rest of the post on this chapter. Adverb clauses were easier to identify which, in turn, help me identify noun clauses. The diagramming for both is still confusing me especially when not introduced by a subordinating conjunction.

I still don’t understand the pedestals, specifically which clauses are put on them. I am doing alright with identifying the different types but this part of the diagramming is starting to confuse me.

I have a good understanding of compound sentence diagramming from my middle school private school education, but I am defiantly out of practice on different variations.
Ch. 4
Chapter 4 has been one of the easiest chapters so far. I am an aspiring author, and a professor of a publishing class once told us grammar only applies to writing. In our everyday conversations, it is more acceptable to use the adverb instead of the adjective or good instead of well.

I understand the function of the objective compliments and how to identify them. Diagramming is the part that is really confusing me, especially when to use the pedestal. I have done a lot of diagramming in the past but never used the pedestal.
