This chapter is on verbals. The first few pages focused on infinitives and their 3 different functions (nouns, adverbs, and adjectives). I liked that Vitto pointed out the difference between infinitives and prepositional phrases as that is a point of confusion for many people. The similarities between infinitive clauses and noun/adverb clauses both help and hinder my learning process. During the examples, I struggled with the difference between a noun clause and an infinitive clause functioning as a noun. I also struggled with remembering where to diagram the infinitives for each section. However, Vitto’s tips for identifying infinitives as nouns, adverbs and adjectives.
I agree with everything you said. Vitto explains everything very well, but I had trouble with identifying sentence parts once I was on my own. I did better with diagramming.
