Travel to the South of France with Film Professor Thomas Anderson.
In this 20- minute video, you will visit the many cities on the Rhone River between Lyon and Avignon, most of which were founded by the Romans. In the colorful city of Arles, you will see many of the locations that were painted by Vincent Van Gogh. Avignon features one of the world’s greatest indoor food markets, as well as the Palace of the Popes from 1307-1372. The 2000-year-old Walled City of Carcassonne is populated today with restaurants and shops. Rennes-le-Chateau is the center of many of the mysteries surrounding Mary Magdalene, and Venasque is another small mountaintop city filled with artist’s galleries and great restaurants. Nice is the home of the Chagall and Matisse Museums. Professor Anderson made this video with his iPhone and a gimbal; he will then answer any questions about both the trip and how he made this video.
