Class Recommendations

  • For an AA in Art with a concentration in Art History, World Language through 2002 is required. It is also required if you plan to transition to the Atlanta campus to earn a BA in Art or Art History. German and French are recommended for Art History, but not required.

  • World Language classes are not required to earn an AS in Art, nor are they required to earn a BFA at the Atlanta campus. If you transition downtown and are not accepted to a BFA concentration, and then decide to earn a BA, you will need to take World Language classes up to the 1002 level (Elementary 1 and 2).

  • If you are planning to transition to the Atlanta Campus and major in Art History, DO NOT TAKE AH 2000 as it a class for studio majors.

  • Electives at Perimeter: Students on the AA Pathway can take ART1050 or an elective as their 4th studio class in Area F.

      • A student can have more than one 2000 level studio elective at Perimeter College to count in the degree program. These include the classes ART 2100 Intermediate Drawing, Fundamentals of Painting ART2200 or ART2300, ART 2050 Ceramics, ART 2400 Photography, ART 2000 Fundamentals of Sculpture.

      • Students expecting to use their financial aid to pay for more than one elective at Perimeter College should confirm that this can be covered.

      • The 2000 courses will continue to appear as 2000-level on their transcript as they are GSU classes and do not need to be evaluated for transfer credit.

  • Science Classes: If your strengths are not in the sciences, consider signing up for classes for non-majors. The catalog description will read at the end of the description if it is for non-majors. If it is for majors, it may not note it.
