Terry Vinyard has been playing drums since the age of 7. Superior middle school and high school band directors inspired him to pursue music and he went on to receive a B.A. in Music Performance from Georgia State University. After a variety of musical pursuits in Atlanta, Terry lived and played in New York City from ‘97 to ‘03. There he was able to both see and study with some of his jazz drumming heroes. He also started a secondary career as a recording engineer. Back in Atlanta, Terry pursued teaching both privately and in local high school percussion programs. For over a decade, Terry has performed with pianist Mark Tucker’s trio and names it as one of the most gratifying musical situations of his career.
