Path to Healing, October 2021
Red Air Dry Clay
The goal of this project was to create an abstract or non-abstract sculpture out of clay. As someone who likes to make art with things/people that mean something to me, I decided to make a sculpture of a pair of lungs with branches engraved on the inside. I wanted to add flowers to signify the healing (because the branches represented the path) but there wasn’t enough for me to create them. I’ve had quite a few illnesses involving my lungs, so it felt right to make something that showcases the cure I want for myself regardless of whether I’ll actually receive it or not.
