Expert Opinion

Greatest Entertainer of All Time: Michael Jackson

According to Alhadji Dounard Thrash, head of Georgia State’s Music department, a great entertainer has to have a vigorous work ethic, be a visionary, a risk taker, a dreamer, and a perfectionist. Because of these reasons, the rankings, and so many more, Michael Jackson is the greatest entertainer of all time. His legacy transcends time, he was a child star, who still remained very successful throughout his life, his message of healing the world, cleaning the Earth, and protecting its people was displayed in everything that he did, he was a humanitarian and it showed through his efforts, he gave millions to charity, he visited the sick in hospitals, he opened an amusement park for less fortunate and sick children, and his style is still recreated and enjoyed today (You can find all of these charity acts and humanitarian works in the “Non-Musical” page.  He is also a very talented singer, dancer, beatboxer, creator, and artist, he broke racial barriers, and lastly, he opened the door for so many other artists following after him, by showing that creativity does not have to be based on a standard, but can be your own, and can be based on things that no one has ever seen before.
