One of Her Best Performances
Madonna
(August 16, 1958 ~ present)
Early Life
Madonna was born on August 16, 1958, in Bay City, Michigan to her mother, Madonna Fortin, whom she inherited her name from, and her father, Silvio Ciccone; this family was very religious Catholics. When Madonna’s mother died early and suddenly, young Madonna was shocked and heartbroken, paired with her father’s remmariage, she turned against her family and became a rebel. Madonna finished highschool, went to the University of Michigan, but dropped out in 1978 to pursue her passion to dance in New York.
Career
Madonna needed money in order to pursue her dancing dream, so she started off as a waitress and nude model in New York. Later, she was able to join “The Breakfast Club” band before forming her own band, “Madonna & the Sky.” In 1979, she was given her first opportunity to play a role in the film, “A Certain Sacrifice.” Later, in 1980, she signed with Sire Records and launched her first solo album three years later; it fared very well. Her success was booming, as she received an endorsement from Pepsi, but that ended after her controversial video for “Like a Prayer” was released. In 1992, she co-founded the “Maverick Records” music label in association with “Warner Music Group.” Madonna was very open with her sexuality, unlike others at that time, which made her a very controversial artist; she published her erotic magazine, “SEX,” in 1992.
Personal Life
Madonna has had many relationships in the past. She married Sean Penn on her birthday in 1985, but their relationship ended in a divorce, as most celebrity relationships do. She later had a daughter with her fitness trainer, then married a director and had two sons with him. She divorced again in 2008, and later adopted a little girl from an orphanage in Malawi, a country in Africa.
