Pandemic Project: Part 3 (Frottage) (Revised)

This is the frottage of an ankh. The purpose of this of how it relates to my project, is because it represents being alive just like nature.
On the left is George Washington is pictured on the left (Quarter), and on the right is Thomas Jefferson on the nickel. It was nice to frottage these two, because of the shade it gives off and the sheen.

Pandemic Project: Part 3 (Spirit Animal Destroys Nightmare)

The swan pops the alien into oblivion with its beak. It fends off the alien with aggression.

Pandemic Project: Part 1 (Self Portrait)

I’ve used string to create the outline structure, and the I also used a black wire to create the eye.

Pandemic Project: Part 5 (Beauty Ugly)

This is a sculpture I did of a face, and it has an ‘ugly’ nose. There are people who judge by looks, and in this case the face has a pinched nose.

Pandemic Project: Part 6 (Natural Materials)

I did an image I projected of an apple with the stem still in tact. This was great to do for me, because it was easy, simple, and fun.

Dream Storyboard

This is my swan dream project. My goal was to figure out a way to capture the essence and elegance of the swan, and how it doesn’t hesitate to defend what it feels is the right. My whole story was to portray a message that nature is amazing, and we have to keep the peace and harmony of the spirit of nature. Nature is home for not only human beings but also all living species. The symbiotic relationship between all living species in complete harmony in their ecosystems are important for the balance of life.

Pandemic Project: Part 1

This part of the project is the self-portrait project. I drew this self-portrait to make it more realistic. In my process, I simply looked in the mirror and tried to replicate how I look by drawing with a lead pencil. A feeling I had when I made this drawing was just focusing on equal proportion of the face.

Pandemic Project: Part 2

This is an image I drew of my nightmare , and my spirit animal (the swan) scared it away by flapping its large wings against the alien. For my process, I did my best replicating what I saw in my dream, and I managed to create the image with accuracy. The alien was very tall and strong, and it was chasing me in my dreams. I simply called upon the swan and it chased the alien away with its stern bravery.

Pandemic Project: Part 3

This is the smudging carton drawing I did, and I did my best to capture the lighting effects and wrinkles in the art. For my process. I put a linen cloth on a square table, and then I put the empty carton on top of the clothed table. I had a great feeling when I was working on the artwork, because I really enjoyed smudging the pencil lead with a small utensil to give the image depth and realism.

Pandemic Project: Part 4

This is a color-penciled drawing of geometric shapes and lines I drew. The reason why I wanted to draw this is because I really enjoyed incorporating the elements of shading from the previous drawing prior to this one. The feeling I felt when drawing this was that I enjoyed using different colors to make the artwork stand out more as it made me feel joyous.

Pandemic Project: Part 5

This is a face sculpture I did with clay, and I wanted to work on sculpting faces as I’ve never worked on creating faces before with this medium. During my process of sculpting this piece, I had struggled quite a bit in creating the layout of the face. I eventually got a feel for sculpting, and I ended up creating a structural face. I felt great when I created this art, because even though it was tough for me I made it through and felt a sense of satisfaction afterwards.

Pandemic Project: Part 6

This is the final part of the project where I had to use natural items to create an art piece. I decided to use wood, because it was easy to work with. I simply made a rectangle by screwing the corners, and I then decided to add strings to it to make an instrumental harp. I felt great when I made this, because it actually plays very well and it ca be fine-tuned to the desired sound you want.
