Hey y’all,

After some recent life events and my findings last week I’ve decided to go in a different direction with my portfolio. My friends and I are building a business together in which we can all market ourselves and our services. My portfolio will mainly be focused on that and involve modeling, photography, content creation, and feature our other gifts and talents. I conducted my portfolio research on Claude and Chat GPT. Both platforms gave me similar advice that aligned with the portfolios I looked up. Chat GPT gave good advice about pertinent information that should be included in my portfolio. I plan to create an about page to introduce all of us, detailing our specific skill sets as well as the services we provide as a team. It said that our photography portion should include categories, samples in each category, client testimonials, and examples of our editing skills. On the modeling side it’ll be a little more individualized. Chat GPT recommended individual sections for our portfolios with diverse styles, our experience and skills. It also recommended that we have pages for our collaborations and joint projects. There will be a page that lists each service we offer and the prices or price ranges for each service. Chat GPT said that we should also include contact information which I believe is the most important part. It’s going to include our email for bookings, a text line, and social media links. The AI gave an optional recommendation to include a blog featuring behind-the-scenes content, photography tips, client spotlights, and whatever else we think of in order to engage our audience. I don’t think that’s the best idea though because blogs aren’t as popular as they used to be.

As you can see from previous posts, Chat GPT is my preferred AI platform for consultation. I asked it to give me examples to portfolios but it said that it couldn’t search the web. That’s when I inquired Claude but when I clicked on the links it provided none of them loaded. I just decided to look up some photography and modeling portfolios on Google. These are the portfolios I came across:

  1. https://www.alexandrazak.com/

This is a photographer’s portfolio. I really like the way it’s is organized. I also enjoy the minimalist layout of the website. The font. Everything looks very clean and neat. Her work is phenomenal. The photos are edited very well, and she has numerous examples. The extensivity of her portfolio is what stands out to me. You can tell that Alexandra Zak has been working for years and has lots of experience. Her portfolio includes her about info, contact info, services, prices, publications, classes, and workshops in a way that makes them easily accessible and easy to find.

2. https://www.taoheedbayo.com/

This portfolio is also organized in a minimalistic way. It has a lot of quality content though. It’s mostly a modeling portfolio organized by collections of photos. I’m assuming each collection is from one specific shoot. I really enjoy the layout of this portfolio, especially the layout of the menu. There’s a short description about the services provided at the top of the menu, followed by an about page. Then each collection has its own unique way that it’s listed in the menu. This portfolio also includes films from the artist which stood out to me because my portfolio is going to incorporate art from multiple mediums.

3. https://www.akwaeke.com/

I know I had this portfolio on my last blog post but this one really inspires me. As someone who creates art in multiple mediums, this portfolio aligns most with what I’m looking to create. This artist has a section for her visual art, short films, books, poetry, music, etc. She also includes lots of information about herself with a biography, interviews, talks, press, and more. This portfolio’s main page is less appealing than the first two but it is organized well and each page is easily accessible through the menu.
