This particular project is the first part of a two-part project, a sequential narrative (a.k.a. a comic strip) in which I am featured as the hero. These 3 pieces comprise the first part of the project, are some of the settings that I decided to include in my comic strip. The guidelines were to produce three drawings that utilize perspective. One drawing is in one-point perspective, one is in two-point perspective, and one is done in atmospheric perspective.
Given that animals are such a huge part of my life, I knew immediately that I would have to take the opportunity to write a story featuring animals. However, animals are involved in my life in many different ways, so narrowing down exactly what I wanted to focus on was tough. After a lot of deliberation, I decided to write a comic strip featuring crows, where I am a “hero” to the crows. Over the past year, I’ve formed a relationship with some of the neighborhood crows by feeding them. They’ve become such a prominent part of my life and my identity that it seemed like a no-brainer to write a story involving them. These three images are based off of real-life places where I’ve spent time interacting with the crows.
