Medium: watercolor paper and black construction paper

For this project, we studied Notan’s and the principles of them. Notan’s is a Japanese design principle that talks about the relationship of positive and negative space, and how to use them together to create balance. we drew out figures and cut them on black paper. The first one is a pebbles exercise, we played with the size of the cut outs and made 5 different sizes. The second is the symmetrical piece, the design had to match the other, i made some sun sugar skulls. The second is 2 skull people under the sun, this is asymmetrical.
