Week 1

Some common elements in art that I often enjoy, as exemplified here, include intricate, almost molecular patterns, vibrant color schemes, and places/things that are generally whimsical or otherworldly, and evoke wonder. The one least like the others is probably the woodcut by M.C. Escher (middle row, right), though the crocheted alien doll (middle row, left) would not look entirely out of place if it were to appear in part of the scene. I absolutely love the weavings of Gunta Stohlz (bottom right), a Bauhausian-era trailblazer of textiles as fine art!
