Beginning this summer, I am apart of the inaugural class of Student Innovation Fellowship at Georgia State University. Now, what on Earth does that mean? Well, the “Student” part is easy. I’ve been a student at Georgia State since my high school graduation. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree here in Journalism and I am currently working on a Master of Business Administration in Marketing. The “Fellow” part is also pretty easy. For the next year, I will be working diligently to assist as many faculty members as I can.
The fun part of this will be the “innovation”. I get to help faculty members bring their ideas and concepts to reality. Maybe an instructor wants to make the most of new technology in their face-to-face class, I get to help them with that! Maybe an instructor wants to start a blog, I get to help with that! Maybe an instructor wants to create a 3D printing of mitochondria, I get to help with that! Maybe an instructor wants to edit a video of themselves into a movie scene to complement a lesson they are teaching… I’m really waiting on this one to happen!
Basically, as a SIF, I get to think of cool ideas to make cool things. I will be blogging (and vlogging) about all of my successes, hiccups and failures. I will also be posting “How-to” instructional videos and articles to let people know, step-by-step, how I achieve my finished products.
PS… I have a long list of videos that I use to find creative inspiration. I will always close a blog with one of those videos!
