Instructions for first blog post

So now that you have your own blog, its time to start developing your content.

Your first post on the blog will be due:

March 29th by Midnight

These are thing things that should be included on your blog:

  • Description of your site visit.  You should describe what you did at your site, what you saw, who you talked to (if applicable), and how you picked your microbe.
  • What microbe you are picking to study for the rest of your project.  What drew you to this microbe?  What is the species?  What did the microbe “look” like at the site?
  • A brief description of your microbe:  is it a virus?  A bacterium?  A protozoa?  A fungus?  Does it cause a disease or have an important ecological purpose?  No need to get into too much detail, you’ll be doing that in future posts.  REMINDER:  organisms in Kingdom Animalia are off limits (stick to viruses, bacteria, protozoa or fungi)
  • Include pictures.  You need to include pictures that you took at the site.  I’d like to see a selfie of you at the site or “with” your microbe (if possible).  The more the merrier.
  • A defined “structure” of your blog – this can include picking a theme (from the appearance tab on the left side of the dashboard), creating your own structure.  You’ll need a unique name (not just so-and-so’s blog), remove all of the generic posts that come with the blog creation, and include either a hyperlink to outside content, multiple pictures, or embedded videos or GIFs.
  • 15 points for this blog post.

Try to make a clean and interesting blog… points are given for style and structure!  Don’t be Muffy!
