My name is Shalom. I am enthusiastic about attending the upcoming SWE conference as a sophomore biology major with an interest in Data Science and investigating the latest innovations in the world. My interest in biology comes from a place of believing there are a lot of secrets life all over the universe holds, that humans are not even close to figuring out. I enjoy learning about the whys and hows of life. While I am not completely sure where my biology degree will lead me, I spend my free time working with Python and SQL and engaging in data analytics projects that merge my scientific curiosity with coding. The conference’s diverse community of women engineers promises fresh perspectives on integrating data science across disciplines. This experience could reshape my perspective on what my academic journey and research capabilities should look like.
Professionally, I see the conference as a way to learn from accomplished women who have succeeded in multidisciplinary fields, informing my future career at the intersection of biological innovations and data science. The networking opportunities hold immense value, potentially leading to collaborations and skill development. Attending the conference is an exciting opportunity to connect, learn, and shape my academic and professional path.
