So, That is my bio that I am going to stick too. It’s catchy and humorous and a pretty accurate description of myself, to be totally honest. But I rethought it, and came to a compromise; partly because I know my mother wouldn’t find it as humorous as I did. (And lets face it, when you’re born and raised in the south, momma’s opinion will always matter.) and partly because there is more to me than that- and I figure if you’re taking time out of your days to read my blog, you deserve a little more.
My name is Massey, I’m 19 years old and I was born and raised in a big town turned small in Metro Atlanta. I say that because while Newnan is a big city I don’t consider myself from Newnan alone. While our house is in an unincorporated district, our mailing address is Newnan. However, I went to High School in Sharpsburg, and we drive through Turin to get to Senoia to have our homecoming parade, and really be in EC Indian Territory. If you go anywhere in the actual city of Newnan it is all Cougar Country and that is just gross. (Rivalries die hard, y’all– And they die even harder in the south.)
That being said, I went to hands down, the greatest high school in this beautiful country. While I may be biased, I have yet to meet someone who had a high school experience even similar to the one that I experienced at The School of Champions. I know that I’m talking a lot about High School, but I’m only 19 and ECHS played a huge part in shaping me into who I’ve become in this short amount of that I’ve been blessed with on this earth. I will always bleed Purple and Gold because Indian Pride never dies! “Champions all have one thing in common, they strive for excellence in everything that they do and they never settle for second best.” I started my High School years like that, and I try and start my adult years with the same thing in mind.
After graduating with the best class ECHS has and will ever see, I got accepted into Georgia State University as a fine arts undergrad with a focus in ceramics. After my entire family continued to attempt and convince me that this was a risky and slightly terrible idea, I gave in….. kind of. Now, I’m a social science major- Sociology, hoping to work with our military helping our troops with the transition into, through, and out of war zones. I have a deep-rooted connection to our military that I still haven’t quite figured out yet, but I know that this is where I want to be.
So, here we are, I am in my sophomore year here in the incredible Downtown Atlanta with a BEAUTIFUL view of down town, and the world at feet.
This is a place for me to express myself, my opinions, and my life with the wonderful people of the internet. Thank you all for reading.
