The “Narrative Drawings” assignment was extremely challenging for me because it involved perspective drawing, which is very new to me. I had never done perspective drawing before and this was my second time attempting to draw it, let alone incorporate it into my “Sequential Narrative”. I enjoyed learning how to structure landscapes and spaces on paper. It made me incredibly curious as to how I could re-create what I drew in the digital space and I experimented with it later on. I worked with multiple mediums that we were assigned such as: crowquill pen, inkwash, water color pencils, and watercolor paint. I enjoyed playing with the colors and my favorite medium out this bunch was the inkwash. I LOVE color, so it was surprising that my favorite medium became the colorless option.
While I didn’t end up using everything I drew, I was certainly happy with the pieces that I turned in. I especially enjoyed watching the progression and the final products of my classmates. Considering the challenge and anxiety that came up for me while completing these pieces, I was highly impressed with my ability to come as close to accurate as I did. I would have like to have made my space more sci-fi than what I ended up choosing. Nexttime, I will choose images that are in alignment with my vision as opposed to images that seemed to be easier.
