This project was an exploration of several mediums and perspectives through the creation of three distinct drawings. The primary objective was to start to develop locations in a sequential narrative for an upcoming project (sequential narrative), where we would become the hero of our own story. The first drawing is a watercolor depiction of a city in Sweden. The second drawing delved into the intricacies of an ink illustration portraying the inside of a subway. The third drawing is made with colored pencils, illustrating a museum setting. Throughout the project, I was able to explore a variety of media and processes, including toned paper, watercolor pencil, India ink with crowquill pen, and wash.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of this project for me was working with toned paper and experimenting with lighter colors to bring depth and dimension to my illustrations. I gained a lot of insight into how different mediums interact with toned paper, discovering new techniques to achieve subtle variations in tone and texture.
