These are some images from my working process
During this project, I focused on exploring negative space to shift my perception away from the traditional figure/ground relationship in drawing. The goal was to develop a deeper understanding of composition and spatial relationships by concentrating on the spaces between objects rather than the objects themselves.
Materials Used: For this project, I utilized a sketchbook, 18 x 24 drawing paper, graphite pencils for sketching, a variety of charcoal pencils (ranging from harder/lighter H to softer/darker B), erasers, and an X-acto knife for sharpening.
I chose to draw the negative space under my kitchen sink. I organized a variety of objects to create a dynamic composition, ensuring a diverse array of shapes, materials, textures, and edges were represented. I aimed to maintain complexity through overlapping and included at least nine distinct and different objects in my composition.
