The Dawn FM album by The Weeknd sparked my creativity, inspiring me to craft a series of eight sculptures, each intricately linked to a specific song from the album. With the music as my guide, I molded each sculpture with care, allowing the melodies and lyrics to shape the forms and textures. Once the sculptures were completed, I carefully documented them in my sketchbook, where each page became a canvas for showcasing the sculptures alongside complementary images and words that resonated with the essence of the corresponding song.
This project was a hands-on exploration of making sculptures out of paper. We were encouraged to think beyond just drawing or painting on paper and instead create three-dimensional forms using simple office paper. Our task was to make eight sculptures, each using only one sheet of paper. We were allowed to fold, cut, tear, and manipulate the paper in any way we wanted to create interesting shapes and forms, but had to use the entire sheet, The goal was to experiment and come up with original and innovative designs. Craftsmanship was important, so we had to be careful and neat in how we put our sculptures together. Overall, the project challenged us to think creatively and explore the possibilities of working with paper in new ways.
