Welcome to My World
I’m a curious learner and researcher with a passion for people, technology, innovation and human-computer interaction. I enjoy connecting with users of all types, and delving deeper into their behaviors, motivations and goals. I have strong instincts for problem solving and extracting actionable insights through question generation, study planning, relevant design, and team collaboration.
My foundational research interest is the influence of language and culture on cognition. I seek to apply what we know about the interplay among these to optimize design of user-centered technologies in formal and informal learning contexts.
For the past two years I have worked in Dr. Robin Morris’ lab in the psychology department in conjunction with Dr. Cynthia Brazeal at the MIT Media Lab on a project involving the use of social robots as learning tutors in elementary classrooms. This fascinating work continues to fuel my interest in human factors research, specifically in the realm of AI powered interfaces.
To my work in User Experience Research I bring:
- a nuanced understanding of psychology and human learning
- knowledge and expertise in a variety of research methods from ethnography and interviewing to usability testing and prototyping
- an entrepreneurial business savvy and knowledge of product development
- an understanding of the role of user research and its relationship to the product life cycle
- workshop facilitation, communication and presentation skills
