Congrats! You’ve come to New York City! You’re staying near Central Park you say? You’re convinced you have a lot of stamina and leg strength? Well do I have the fun activity idea for you!
Try the Citi Bike! It’s very simple, I promise, and it’s the best, most tiring thirty minutes of your life! First, you’re gonna want to download the Citi Bike app onto your phone! It connects to your Lyft account, so if you already have one set up, no need to worry about inputting any new credit card information! Very fast, very efficient, I promise! Note, don’t pay attention to the guys renting bikes right outside of Central Park, you want the flexibility of time, especially since you’re convinced you can bike the entirety of Central Park! No, pull up your Citi Bike app and find the nearest parking spot for Citi Bikes.
So, you’ve found the bikes! You’ve done the hardest part! Now, you’re gonna choose. Manual? Electric? Surely a manual bike can’t be too bad, you used to love riding bikes after all! Besides, it’s basically sitting! How hard can it be? Alright, so you’ve chosen the manual bike, good! The great thing is, you’re saving money this way! The first thirty minutes is $4.49! Great deal, right? After that, it’s $0.27 a minute, but don’t worry, I’m sure that won’t be a problem later. Alright, you’ve got your Citi Bike app ready? Great! Now, scan that QR code on the bike, and get riding!
Isn’t the day so nice? Isn’t the breeze just perfect as you ride so smoothly through Central Park? Oh? What’s this? A Particularly Large Hill? Don’t worry, remember that leg strength you said you have? This is the perfect opportunity to test it out!! Oh…Oh boy….you’re kind of struggling, aren’t you? Well, maybe take a break, see if that helps. Oh…you’re…too tired to carry on? Your legs are exhausted? Oh….oh no….well…I guess you could put the bike up, but that would make you a quitter, wouldn’t it? Oh, you’re okay with that? Okay then…
Well, I guess you could pull up your Citi Bike app again. I guess you could look up the nearest parking spot, and I suppose you could walk your Citi Bike to the nearest parking spot. Then, I suppose that when you arrive, you could line your Citi Bike up with the dock and push it in (you may need to use a little force) until the light on the dock turns green. Okay…I guess…that’s it….
You’re on the other side of Central Park from where you’re staying? Well, I guess that is a conundrum. You could walk across the park maybe? No? Okay, I guess pull up your maps app. Put the address of your hotel in. Pick transit. Oh, would you look at that? There’s a bus that’ll take you right through Central Park? Isn’t that convenient?
Well, better luck next time. Maybe you should’ve stuck with the thirty minutes.
