My name is Lauren Bennett and I am a senior Georgia State University expecting to graduate in December 2016. I am an English major and my concentration is in Rhetoric and Composition. I’ve lived in Georgia for most of my life and I’ve been an Atlanta resident for three years. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be a writer and I’ve loved reading from an early age. I enjoy writing short stories and writing essays and music reviews. My favorite book is A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers.

I’ve taken numerous creative writing and editing classes at Georgia State. I am currently enrolled in a special topics class that will have a hands-on experience in editing the next issue of Five Points. After I graduate, I plan on working as a print or digital media editor as well as a freelance writer part-time. I hope to one day start my own print publication or become Editor-in-Chief of a major publication.
