I recently was on Facebook and saw an interesting post being shared. The post was written by a father who was at Chick Fil A with his daughter and posted on Facebook what happened shortly after arriving home. He wrote how he and his daughter were enjoying a typical day at the restaurant and were standing near the line to get their drink “refreshed” and witnessed a something beautiful. A homeless man walked into a Chick Fil A and didn’t expect what happened shortly after. The man came to the restaurant asking for scraps of leftover food, but he ended up getting more than he expected. The father described the man as “wet and caked on in his traveler shoes”(Mustain). The father wrote how the person was being kind and smiling at the guests even after he was given unpleasant stares throughout the store by the customers. The man kindly waited for the manager and smiled as other guests entered the restaurant.
Shortly after, the manager arrived and offered the homeless man a full warm meal rather than scraps of leftovers. He asked the homeless man to pray with him. Although the restaurant was busy, that didn’t stop the kind manager from placing his hand on the man and praying with him. Mustain wrote that he heard the love in the prayer that was being recited among the manager and the homeless man and asked his daughter to look at the beautiful scene. Mustian then was asked by his daughter to recite a prayer, and the father was happy and proud of his daughter. The father realized that day that Chick Fil A doesn’t do business just for profit but rather use their business to minister. He gladly gives thanks to Chick Fil A for teaching his daughter a life lesson.
I think it is amazing what this man did because it shows that there are still kind people in this world. It was heartwarming to hear the story, and I felt like many individuals wouldn’t do the same thing as managers of a franchise business. I work at Chick Fil A and sometimes encounter homeless people who are hungry and ask for food. Some individuals are generous and offer to buy food for them. I think that it’s important for us to realize that some people don’t have food and often beg a decent meal. This manager wasn’t able to end hunger for homeless people but was able to help someone in need and made a positive change. We should all try to do as much as we can to help individuals in the world in need by donating food, clothes, or even just our time at homeless shelters by volunteering.

I liked the story as well as your analysis. This is the type of act that restores our faith in humanity
