Blog Post 16 International Day

I am super excited for the International Day in a couple of weeks. I went to the meeting last week, and we were coming up with a playlist for music. The vice president, Esho, was also kind enough to bring some food from her culture, called samosa. Everyone enjoyed it because it was warm and tasty. Also, the international club has teamed up with the African Club for this spectacular event. During the meeting, we all were trying to come up with music from as many countries possible to be played that day. We were able to come up with music from Somalia, Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt, and much more. Many of us were excited to hear some music from different countries and learned a little bit about each other. I am an international student, so learning about other international students intrigues me. I love finding out about different student’s cultures, customs, and traditions. On a daily base, I watch Spanish dramas to improve my Spanish speaking skills, enjoy watching Indian shows for entertainment, love learning new Nigerian dance choreography, and much more. For me, this day is about expanding my knowledge about the international students and making new friends.

We all have signed up for different things to do that day. Some people will be assisting in a fashion show, helping set up and clean up, contributing to serving the food, others will be showing their talents during the talent show, and we’ll have some people with posters from different countries teaching about the customs and traditions. The event will be my very first international day at Georgia Perimeter College, and I’m keen for the day to come. I hope that we are successfully in having a big audience and a fascinating fashion show.
